'''Moritz Otto von Drebber''' (12 February 1892 &ndash; 30 May 1968) was a highlygeneral decoratedin the [[GeneralmajorWehrmacht]] in theof [[WehrmachtNazi Germany]] during [[World War II]] who commanded the 297.[[297th Infantry Infanterie-Division. (Wehrmacht)|297th Infantry Division]]. He was also a recipient of the [[Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross]]. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Moritz von Drebber surrendered on 25 January 1943 during the [[Battle of Stalingrad]] and joined the [[National Committee for a Free Germany]] while in captivity. He was released in 1949.
