The Brewster Buffalo was a closed cockpit, retractable gear monoplane replacement late thirties, early forties, like the I-16, which is not listed here. The correct airplane for US Army Air forces in this section is either the Boeing P-12 bi-plane, which was introduced in 1933 and saw service in the Spanish Civil War, or the Boeing P-26 open cockpit, fixed gear of 1936.
