“There was a wedding at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Jesus also was invited to the wedding with his disciples. When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to him, ‘They have no wine.’ And Jesus said to her, ‘Woman, what does this have to do with me? My hour has not yet come.’ His mother said to the servants, ‘Do whatever he tells you’” (John 2:1-5).

What's Really Happening at the Wedding At Cana: Mary's Intercession - There is much, much more present at the Wedding in Cana than meets the eye: there's Mary's intercession, the New Eve and the New Creation, and references to the Queen-Mother of Israel, the Gebirah. Why does it sound like Jesus is speaking disrespectfully to his mother? Why does Jesus refer to his mother as "woman"? Why does Jesus create wine from bath water?
