Another Raku lesson learned. This is an unusual, but interesting lot! What happened was… These were in my last Raku firing of the day. A friend was visiting and while we were chatting the gas bottle was running low, so I switched the burner off, to continue our chat. The kiln had reached approx 600°C at that point. After she left I changed the bottle and fired the kiln back up. At that point it had cooled down quite a bit and while heating it up to the usual 950°C the glaze started to cra...
