Lone star quilt

Hello Ladies, Our next meeting of the Quiltin’ Bs will be Thursday, January 23 at 7:00 pm. We will begin working on a Broken Star/Lone Star quilt. I know it looks complicated, but I think everyone will be able to do it.

Cosmic Feathers is a modern take on the lone star design. The Small Throw has 24 feathers, while the Large Throw has 48 feathers. The 16 Color Version uses 16 fabrics once within each feather, while the 8 Color Version uses 8 fabrics twice within each feather. I have two Lone Star quilts to share with you today and they were made by Florence who will be giving them to her granddaughters for their graduation this June. The first one is made in pinks and greys and the inner grey border has a very pretty feather print. Lots of flowing feathers and CC’s in the diamond shapes to give it wonderful texture. The second one is made in bolder colour palette of blue, green and purple fabrics and quilted very similar to the first one.
