Nicole Ringgold on Instagram: "So many of my students have been previously told that it’s impossible to fuse sterling silver. As I taught myself how to silversmith, I didn’t realize that it was “impossible” so just went about my merry way doing things differently. I came up with this “dripping technique”, fusing sterling silver into sculptural pieces. Most recently, I’ve been creating closed hollow forms with entirely fused sterling silver. Here’s a sneak preview. I’ve taught my techniques around the globe, and it’s fun to see them being utilized by so many, depicted in their IG posts and reels. This technique will also be covered in my upcoming book #thenewsilversmith. Preorders are scheduled for later this summer!
