Rhyolite: this Nevada ghost town, named for the silica volcanic rock nearby, sprung up around 1904, when Rhyolite's Montgomery Shoshone Mine caused a financial boom. The Bottle House, built out of almost 50,000 Adolphus Busch beer bottles, is a must-see.
