Modes Royale Inspired Four Piece Cocktail Ensemble

I have been planning on making this outfit since 2008 when I discovered the Modes Royale patterns. Of course other projects kept jumping in front of this one, and another designer made this before me, but I still was obsessed with making this design myself. I really like the idea of the lace sheath under an overdress or redingote. I am eternally in love with the elegance and style of fashions past, from the 30's to the 70's. My illustrations are an ode to great fashion illustrations of a bygone era. All of my work is original and the models are conjured from my imagination. Prints are of my original ink and watercolor fashion illustrations. This particular print was inspired by the fashions of the 40's. The original illustration is in black India ink, watercolor and gouache. I try to capture the richness and texture of the original in the prints but sometimes there are slight variations. All work is printed on archival matte art paper with borders.
