D4BL III Request for Workshop Proposals

Submission Deadline: Sunday, September 29

Data for Black Lives

August 8, 2024

The Data for Black Lives conference brings together hundreds of leaders from around the country and the world to discuss the role data could and should play in Black communities. These leaders have dedicated themselves to using data to create concrete and measurable change in the lives of Black people. Be a part of this unique opportunity to connect with hundreds of attendees working to mobilize scientists around racial justice issues.

The Data for Black Lives III Conference will be held November 18–20 in Miami, Florida. Approximately four workshops will be offered during one of four 2 - 2.5 hour periods on November 20 and should anticipate a crowd of about 100 attendees.

Respond to the prompts below to apply to facilitate a workshop. Alternatively, you may submit a 1-2 page outline detailing your intended workshop and submit to [email protected] by September 18, 2024.

Data for Black Lives will provide a $1,000 honorarium for workshop organizers.

Because of our desire to offer participants a balanced set of workshops, applicants may be asked if they are willing to modify presentation formats or speak to specific questions (e.g., say more about their findings or tools). For examples and ideas of successful submissions, please explore the 2019 Data for Black Lives’ conference program here.
