Catie Lewis is an oil painter based in CT, whose work delves into narratives of her Filipino heritage through themes of self-identity, cultural belonging, and familial reconnection as an adoptee.

Our retro stripe design strikes a great balance between bold colour and plain walls. The flowing line of colour directs your gaze to the length of the room and is filled with an elegance that is complimented by the warm beige backdrop making it a perfect accompaniment for retro styling.

So I knew from the start that I wanted to do some kind of funky 70s touches to our new home, but the question inevitably was “what and where??” I think the wavy wallpaper and textiles that are part of the classic 70s look are really fun but I didn’t want to overdo it to where you feel a bit dizzy when you look at it, so I decided to do a large scale version in a more organic shape to get that groovy 70s vibe in a more modern color scheme.
