Many snap pea and snow pea varieties can easily grow to reach 7' tall so building a structure to support your pea vines is crucial. One of the most inexpensive, and easiest ways to create a tall semi-permanent trellising structure for your peas is with 8' bamboo poles (about $5 each at your local hardware store) and Jute Twine garden twine. Vera Greutink | Edible Garden on Instagram: "Yesterday felt like the proper start of the gardening season! I put up my trellis and planted out presown snow peas. I also sowed some spinach and lettuce along the trellis to make use of the whole bed and the shelter provided by the row cover. It protects the plants both from cold and wind and pigeons. And now I’ll just have to hope for the spring to properly set in! Have you been able to do some gardening this weekend?"
