I didn’t realize how easy it is to make a lantern. Many ways exist, but I found this the easiest, so we tried it! MATERIALS: 1. Autumn leaves 2. Wax paper/ greaseproof paper 3. Cardboard 4. Ruler, glue, cardboard cutter 5. Iron 6. Electric tea lights/ cocktail candles HOW TO CREATE A LEAF LANTERN: 1. Collect autumn leaves (Try to get as many colors and types as possible). Dry leaves will not work! 2. Decide on the shape of your lantern. We made a square one. 3. Fold the wax paper in half and cut four strips. 4. Place your leaves between the folded wax paper. 5. Add a little bit of glue. 6. Franziska Shelton // Arts & Crafts on Instagram: "🍂🍁 Miniature Leaf Lantern 🍁🍂 Be sure to watch this one until the end 🤭🍁 Please note that this craft ONLY works with flameless LED candles. Begin with a dried watercolor painting. Cut out a rectangle according to the dimensions shown above (12.5x7 cm). Leave some room for hot glue. Next, brush the inner rectangle with vegetable oil to make the paper translucent. Let dry. Use a hot glue gun to attach an LED tea light to the bottom part of the lantern. Roll up and glue the edges together. Use Mod Podge to adhere tiny leaves to the outside of the lantern. Let dry. Use a hole punch and string to suspend the lantern from a wooden dowel.
