Cabinet of Curiosities Online Class Spring 2012

If you have ever wanted to embroider you're own casket then this is THE class to take with Tricia from Thistle Threads starting in Spring 2012 www.thistle-threads.com/casket

Tricia was co-lead on the Embroidered Jacket Project so you can be sure that this project will be just as historically accurate. Threads, papers, ribbons etc are all being recreated as close to the originals as possible. In order for this to be more accessible monthly payments are possible.

Looking forward to this new challenge in 2012! :-)

The special evening tour of Buckingham Palace we attended last week was sooo worth it. They normally get over 8,000 visitors a day and this year will be even more. If you can't get there in person the special website and video are great.

Cheese Souffles

Been on a bit of a roll with the Twice Baked Cheese Souffles recently - had an order for 24 from my sister so thought I would share photos so that if you ever make the same recipe you will know what to expect!

Here they are just out of the oven all risen and puffy :-)

Here they are five minutes later :-(

Still the point of the recipe is that you prepare them to this stage. Cool them and turn them out. You can then freeze them if you wish to keep for future use, or the next stage (hence twice baked) is to pour over seasoned cream and sprinkle with cheese before putting back in the oven for 15-20 mins. Then they come out bubbling and cheesy and yummy. Should have taken a photo of that - but somehow they got eaten up!!

If freezing they must be defrosted before baking again.

My recipe comes from an old Good Housekeeping magazine.
