Valentine's Day is right around the corner! My new set of printables includes fourteen different antique looking Valentine hearts to add to your decor. Print on kraft cardstock and they also make sweet gift tags with room to write your sentiment on the back. Others were printed on a lighter weight kraft packing paper (comes in a roll), I got mine at a dollar store. Sew them together with a simple whip, running or blanket stitch and stuff. It's a very easy alternative to printing on muslin. Hang, tuck in with a vignette or use as a bowl filler. Set number 131, available in my shop. ...
Who doesn't need chicken Valentine decor in their kitchen?? I sure did! My grandparents, above, had chickens on their farm and one of my earliest memories is the hens scattering when we drove into the yard in the 1960's. It's also my grandmother tied onto the homespun heart. You will find this label in set #124 in my shop (click on the image below to find it). I printed the label on new pre-washed muslin and sewed a simple feed sack. I use the freezer paper method, my ink jet printer and new, well pressed pre-home dyed muslin. I strongly recommend researching for a tutorial as this is not a feat for the faint of heart. You will find many posts on this on Pinterest. If you have an old printer at home I would use it. I have not had any difficulties with my attempts but I trim every teeny little stray thread from the edges of the freezer paper/muslin before feeding it through the rear tray. ** I also used a legal sized piece of freezer paper and muslin to give me a bit of ......
All you need is a few twigs and some craft paint to make these rustic style peppermint sticks. I used the watershoots that grew on our apple tree this past summer. The straighter and smoother the better. I have decided that these may be a bit long so they are getting a trim soon. The label is from my new set of printable peppermint stick labels. There are four labels ranging in style from primitive to Victorian. Just click the link to my Etsy shop to find them. ...
Happy Fall everyone! I finally had some time to get this out of my head and made into a printable. This design is one of eight in a new old style Halloween pantry set, number 127 in my shop. The links are here on my blog. It is wonderful for fall kitchen decor or make smaller bags for treats for special friends. Directions for printing and making the sack are not included but there are a multitude of posts on Pinterest about printing on muslin. I use the freezer paper method. It is not for the faint of heart and I recommend using a spare printer if you have one. I use a thin well pressed muslin that has been pre-dyed. There is a copy of the print in the set without the 'old paper' colouring and you'll want to use that one. That is why it's important to already have your fabric a darker shade. You cannot dye it or add a water based stain after it is printed as the ink will run. I got a spritz of water on my 'O' and it ran. Yikes. Basic sewing skills are all that ......
Here's another super easy bit of spring decor. The label is from my set number 44 and I used fur-like yarn for a filler. Pom poms would be great too! I printed the label a bit larger than actual size. ...
