7 Topics[GA] Tenable Patch Management 10.0 is officially LIVE! Experience the magic of simplicity.
Today, we are thrilled to unveil the latest evolution of Tenable Patch Management (TPM): The General Availability (GA) of TPM v10.0. This update represents a significant transformation of our product, designed to deliver on the promise of modern, frictionless, and autonomous patching. Big News: One Product, One Experience We have officially unified our product experience by retiring the "Express" vs. "Enterprise" distinction in favor of a Single SKU model. Whether you require high-speed simplicity or deep granular control, you no longer have to choose, every customer now has access to the full power of the Tenable patching engine. Experience the Magic of Simplicity TPM 10.0 reduces operational complexity by focusing on the daily workflow of the administrator. Here is what you will find inside: Administrator-first interface: Our new homepage prioritizes "Blind Spots" and "Delta Numbers," giving you an instant view of unpatched gaps and real-time changes in your environment. 6-step guided setup: A new interactive onboarding wizard replaces hours of manual setup, covering integration and device verification in minutes. "What, When, & How" strategy builder: Build complex patching strategies using a guided process focused on three simple questions: What are we patching? When is it happening? How should it behave? Deployment rings: We have evolved "Waves" into Deployment Rings with automated Transitions (Success, Approval, or Delay) to control exactly how patches move through your environment safely. The emergency kit: Access a "Global Pause" button, instant rollbacks, and exception controls directly from your dashboard for moments when you need to act fast. Advanced settings hub: We haven't removed the deep customization you love; we've just organized it. Features like Intent Schema and Flex Controls have moved to this hub to keep your main workspace clean. Enhanced RBAC (on-premise): We have introduced new built-in security roles for scoped access and security audits. Say hello to query-based recast and a new API.
You’ve asked for more control, and now, we’ve delivered. With the launch of query-based recast, Tenable Vulnerability Management gives you the granular precision and automation tools you need to streamline exception workflows and accurately manage risk. Why you'll love this update: You set the rules precisely: You create powerful exceptions based on 14 criteria, including Asset Tags, CVEs, networks, and FQDNs. This gives you far more control than ever before. Intelligent management: We help you manage those rules without overlap. The new Rules Management page flags Related Rules, so you confidently avoid conflicting policies that waste your time. Automation is here: Stop manual work! You can now use the new Recast API to automate rule creation, modification, and deployment across your entire environment. Modern look (and dark mode!): Manage everything in a clean, intuitive Rules Management page built with our design system. (Yes, it supports dark mode. We hear you, fellow night owls.) These updates empower you to move from detection to action with greater speed and confidence. ESXi Version Information from vCenter REST API Summary We are proud to announce to our Tenable customers our latest integration enhancement with the ability to gather ESXi host version information from the vCenter REST API. This feature is available when using the VMware vCenter integration credential and the customer's vCenter/ESXi version is 7.0.3 or higher. This feature was developed for customers with ESXi hosts that are managed by a vCenter, but are not routable by the Nessus scanner on their network. Customer’s vCenter/ESXi environments may be configured as such where the ESXi hosts are not routable by the scanner for various reasons (ex. do not allow incoming connections, firewall rules, etc…). We now have the capability to get ESXi version information directly from the vCenter host REST API. Credential Configuration Considerations Customers will not see any changes to the VMware vCenter credential. However, customers will need to enable Auto-Discovery of ESXi hosts to take advantage of this feature. When the ESXi host is automatically added to the scan using Auto-Discovery of ESXi hosts, Tenable determines if the scanner can communicate with the host. If not, Tenable will allow the host to be scanned and therefore vulnerability detections will run, at the very least based on the ESXi version information collected. Red Hat Satellite Server Katello API Support Deprecated Summary Tenable has deprecated support for the Red Hat Satellite Server 6 ‘/katello/api/’ line of endpoints. Red Hat no longer supports these endpoints as of 2016. This only affects Red Hat Satellite Server older than 6.1, version 6.2 and beyond use ‘/api/v2/’ endpoints. The existing functionality for ‘/katello/api’ will remain in place but we will no longer work on providing upgrades or supporting bug fixes beyond security concerns. If the modern ‘/api/v2’ is not detected and the ‘/katello/api/’ line of the API’s are detected the integration will warn about legacy API usage.
