Summary

Description
Eesti: Vesilesta (Arrenurus sp.) isasisend pildistatud mikroskoobi all kasutades 8x objektiivi. Isend on kogutud 2023. aasta juunis. Pildil on hästi näha isastele vesilestadele iseloomulik pirnjas kehakuju ning selgelt eristuv tagasaba, mis on peamine tunnus isaste eristamiseks emastest isenditest. Keha pinnal on näha iseloomulik võrkmuster ning punased silmad. Jäsemed on läbipaistvad ja kaetud ogajate harjastega. Pilt on tehtud musta tausta peal, mis toob eriti kontrastselt esile looma kollakaspruuni kehapinna tekstuuri ja jäsemete peened detailid. Valgustamisel on kasutatud peegelduvat valgust fotograafia välklambilt (speedlight), mis rõhutab eriti hästi isendi välispinna struktuure ja mustreid. Pilt on tehtud kasutades fookuse virnastamise tehnikat (focus stacking), mis tagab suure teravussügavuse.
English: A male water mite (Arrenurus sp.) photographed under a microscope using an 8x objective. The specimen was collected in June 2023. The image clearly shows the characteristic pear-shaped body form of male water mites and their distinctive posterior extension, which is the main feature distinguishing males from females. The body surface displays a characteristic reticulated pattern and red eyes. The appendages are transparent and covered with spiny bristles. The specimen was photographed against a black background, which creates a strong contrast with the yellowish-brown body surface texture and fine details of the appendages. The lighting technique used was reflected light from a photographic speedlight flash, which particularly emphasizes the surface structures and patterns. The image was created using focus stacking technique, which ensures great depth of field throughout the subject.
