Description
Bahasa Melayu: -di Borneo,semua spesies periuk kera tergolong dalam genus Nepenthes.Sebayak 37 spesies tumbuhan periuk kera dijumpai di Borneo yang mana 22 spesies di dapati di Sabah.

-Bentuk periuk kera pada tumbuhan ini sebenarnya telah berkembang dari hujung daun dan berfungsi sebagai perangkap pasif.Serangga kecil seperti semut amat tertarik kepada nektar yang didapati di pinggir mulut periuk kera yang licin.Akhirnya, beberapa serangga akan jatuh dan lemas di dalam cecair yang ada dalam periuk tumbuhan tersebut kemudian akan menyerap nutrien daripada badan serangga yang telah reput. -kebanyakan spesies Nepenthes boleh dijumpai di kawasan pergunungan,namun sebahagiannya juga boleh dijumpai dengan banyaknya di hutan tanah pamah yang mempunyai tanah kurang nutrien seperti hutan paya dan tanah berpasir putih. -TAHUKAH ANDA? •Kepelbagaian tertinggi tumbuhan periuk kera adalah di Sumatra (39 spesies) dan Borneo (37 spesies) dengan banyak spesies endemik.

•Mangsa biasanya terdiri daripada pelbagai serangga ,tetapi spesies -spesies besar (seperti N.rajah dan N.rafflesiana) kadang-kadang 'memerangkap' invertibrata kecil seperti tikus dan cicak.
