Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe Eastgate - geograph.org.uk - 257362.jpg |
English: East Gate, Warwick, seen from the town side from Jury Street. The gate arch is 15th century. St Peter's chapel over the gate was rebuilt in 1788 and is now leased as part of King's High School for Girls. It was used until fairly recently but now needs repair and renovation. It was recently sold at auction in London to a businessman who bought it unseen.
The pillar box between the main and pedestrian arches is one of a pair in Warwick and is of a rare type. The other is at West Gate. |
