Description

Male (black) and female (white) Tadorna variegata, Paradise Shellduck, Pūtangitangi. Native to New Zealand. At the Karori Wildlife Sanctuary, Wellington New Zealand. (See also en:Karori Wildlife Sanctuary).

I hope to do better on a brighter day. It's tough photographing the pair - hard to balance black versus white.

Had to play with the levels to try and reveal some detail on the male's dark head. Reduced to 1024x768 with a small amount of USM.
