Description
English: Lithiophilite
Field of view: 3.0 mm
Locality: Foote Lithium Co. Mine (Foote Mine), Kings Mountain District, Cleveland County, North Carolina, USA
Pale transparent crystals of lithiophilite from the Foote Mine. According to Jason B. Smith, these were collected from the deepest portion of the pegmatite exposed by the mining operation before lithium mining ceased. Imaged using a Nikon DS-U3 camera and NIS Elements image processing software. Chris Emproto collection and photo.
