Summary

[edit]
Description
English: This is an American made hand wired Class A Tube Amp made by Gibson. The combination of a single ECC83/12AX7A based preamp and a single 6BQ5/EL84 based power amp yields 5 watts RMS output with a eight inch four ohm Gibson Goldtone speaker. There are no tone controls. But there is a volume control on the back side of the amp. Inout One has a bright high volume sound and Input Two has a darker sound in tone with a three decibel pad. The pad on Input two makes it sound lower in volume than Input One. Without the tone controls in the circuit, this allows a guitar player hear the electric guitar's original tone without any tone colorization. The rectifier is solid state rather than a tube rectifier that the original Les Paul Jr. amp had in its circuitry. The solid state rectifier is considered to be more reliable than the original tube design. Unfortunately, Gibson stopped production of Gibson Amplifiers as of the year 2011. By searching on the internet, a used Gibson Amplifier can be found for purchasing.
