Notizie storico-critiche Questa incisione ritenuta copia da un opera di Annibale , e caratterizzata da una composizione estremamente calibrata e modulata nei gesti che rimanda ai numerosissimi dipinti di carattere storico e di stampo classicista realizzati a cavallo tra Sette e Ottocento dai pittori dell'Accademia di Belle Arti parigina, spesso per concorrere al famoso Prix de Rome. Essa è infatti desunta dal Giuramento degli Orazi del pittore francese neoclassico Armand-Charles Caraffe (Parigi, 1762 Parigi, 18 agosto 1822), oggi al museo Puskin di Mosca.
