aus dem fast aile neueren Mineralogen, als Haidinger, Nauniaini, Dana, Quienstedt u. m. a., ihm nicht gefolgt sind, sondern sich auf Miller’s Messungen stützen und den Sylvanit wieder als ein rhombisches Mineral betrachten.
Vor kurzem erhielt ich, durch die Güte des Hrn. General-Majors Hofmann, drei kleine Krystalle (N° 1, N° 2 u. N° 3), vermittelst welcher ich im Stande war mich zu überzeugen, dass das Krystallsystem des Sylvanits nicht rhombisch, sondern, wie Gustav Rose geäussert hat, monoklinoëdrisch ist. Zwei der erwähnten Krystalle (Fig. 2 u. 2 bis, Fig. 3 u. 3 bis) sind einfache Krystalle mit dem wesentlichsten Charakter der monoklinoëdrischen Combinationen. Der dritte Krystall (Fig. 1 u. 1 bis) ist ein Zwilling, und daher hat er, beim ersten Blick, eine gewisse Ähnlichkeit mit den rhombischen Krystallen. Übrigens ist in diesem letzten Krystalle die Zusammensetzungs-ebene beider Individuen (Zwillingsfläche) leicht zu er-kennen nach der Nath, welche auf den Flächen b == (~P~) deutlich sichtbar ist.
