Description
English: Plate IV, Figure 2, of 1898 publication called Maryland Geological Survey Volume Two, with caption "Prominent "Bedding" Joints." The text of the publication refers to the figure as follows: (the figure) "shows a quarry in which the rock is traversed by a series of nearly horizontal joints so strongly developed that very little labor is necessary to free the sheets from one another." Location of quarry unknown.
