Description

In 1928, Chrysler acquired Fargo Trucks and Dodge Brothers and also established Plymouth and DeSoto brands. Plymouth was Chryslers lowest priced car, Dodge was next, then Desoto and Chrysler was top of the line. Dodge offered three different wheelbases in 1967. The full size Dodge was the Polara, Polara 500, upmarket Monaco and Monaco 500 2 door Hardtop . The Dart was the compact, base, 270 and the sporty GT. The mid size model was now the Coronet, in base, Deluxe, 440, 500 and new for 67, the sporty RT. The Dodge Charger 2 door Hardtop muscle car was introduced in 1966, also sharing the B Body platform. The Charger shared the front sheet metal with the Coronet but got an 'electric shaver' grille with rotating headlights and full width tail light. Unique to this first generation (1966-67) was the fastback. The difference between the 66 and 67 Chargers is that 67s have turn signal indicators mounted on the leading edge of the front fenders. The 66 Chargers have a console that runs from the dash to the rear seats, while 67 Chargers console runs only between the front seats.

1967 Charger engines: 230hp 318, 265hp 361, 325hp 383 and 425hp 426 Hemi V8s (361 replaced with 440 in 1967)
