Русский: Упрощенная схема биосинтеза и регенерации тетрагидробиоптерина (BH4) в пресинаптическом окончании аксона. BH4 является незаменимым кофактором таких гидроксилаз ароматических аминокислот, как фенилаланингидроксилаза (ФАГ), тирозингидроксилаза (ТГ) и триптофангидроксилаза (ТФГ) – они катализируют важные реакции в цепочках синтеза таких моноаминов, как дофамин, серотонин, норадреналин и адреналин.
