Unter dem Motto „Innovative und erfolgreiche Effizienzprojekte hautnah erleben“ führte die EnergieAgentur.NRW in Kooperation mit dem Verband für Wärmelieferung e. V. - einer bundesweiten Interessensvertretung für Contracting und Energiedienstleistungen am 28. August 2018 eine Contracting-Tour mit Medienvertretern durch. Im Fokus standen dabei zwei Projekte der besonderen Art an besonderen Orten. Zum einen an der neu angelegten Naherholungsanlage eines ehemaligen Stahlwerkareals – zum anderen an einer der wohl bekanntesten Veranstaltungsstätten des Ruhrgebiets: Besucht wurde das Wohnquartier „Neue Ufer“ am Phoenixsee Dortmund. Hierbei haben die Kraftwirte der Stadtwerke Lemgo GmbH als Contractor eine 2 x 135 kW Holzpellet-Anlage inkl. 3 x 1.500 Liter Pufferspeicher zur Wärmeversorgung für rund 44 moderne Wohnungen errichtet und zudem noch die Planung, Finanzierung und den Betrieb übernommen. Dann ging es weiter in die Westfalenhallen Dortmund. Diese werden seit über 30 Jahren durch die Dortmunder Energie- und Wasserversorgung GmbH (DEW21) als Contractor betreut. Dabei werden diverse Hallen, ein Eissportzentrum, ein Leichtathletikzentrum, ein Hotel sowie ein Verwaltungsgebäude mit einer Gesamtleistung von etwa 15 MW mit Wärme versorgt. Zudem errichtete die DEW21 auf den Westfalenhallen als Contractor die damals größte dachgestützte Photovoltaik-Anlage nördlich der Mainlinie mit einer Gesamtkapazität von 1,68 MWp.
