Dr. Roswoll Park, in an address beforethe surgical society in Germany, is cred-ited in the newspapers with saying thatin America cancer is making such rapidheadway that there are more deaths fromthis disease than from tuberculosis. If this statement is true, and we haveno reason to doubt it, as it comes from asurgeon of such excellent standing, whois certainly familiar with the statisticson the subject, it behooves the medicalprofession to awaken, broaden out, andfollow up every new channel of scientificinvestigation until it has discovered amethod which will decrease this mortality.
