Mbdortmund is a steady contributor to Commons since July 2006. Since then he has made more than 11000 edits (actually a few more here than on his home wiki, which is de.wikipedia), and he has uploaded nearly 3500 images up to now (most of them are his own photos, see e.g. this shot for one of his quality images).

Well, Mbdortmund is a basically considerate and sober-minded user who concentrates on uploading, improving and classifying images. As an admin some maintenance would be easier for him, and – I don't expect any sudden change in his participation – he will predominantly help more with the inconspicuous but important admin tasks (like editing CommonsDelinker commands, deleting duplicates, obvious copyvios, or other csd issues) rather than becoming a rough vandal fighter or so. He's also available on IRC quasi daily (same nick). And as far as I know him, he avoids stepping into fields where he doesn't feel being experienced in, which is a pretty reasonable way to participate in such broad and international projects as Commons are. Personally I trust him and I don't see any problems with granting him admin rights here.

Hi Dschwen, the proposal of BdKa was based on my work with the Bundesarchiv-pictures, where I often needed help concerning the categories and other technical problems by commons-admins.
