Woodworkers hand screw parallel clamp in very nice patinated condition. A genuine antique and ready to work too.

This clamp is a genuine antique. The man who sold it to me said it belonged to his grandfather who was working as a carpenter before WWI. They may be even older than that because there is a name (F. Tibbenham) stamped on them which the seller did not recognise. I removed a century's dirt from it but I have not lacquered it and it is in very nice patinated condition, It is a large clamp. The jaws are 2 1/4 X 1 7/8 inch in section and are 12 inches long. The woodwork is beech of excellent quality and is of course now very hard. There is a little wear at the nose of the jaws but it is very little. You could ignore it but it really bothers you it wouldn't take long to flatten the facing surfaces. I didn't do it because it works fine as is and I wanted to leave the patination. The screws were vey rusty and reluctant to turn but I have brushed them and they now turn freely. So a working tool with lovely patination ready to be put to use.
