Soft science fiction is a subgenre that emphasizes the social sciences and human elements within a futuristic or technologically advanced setting. Soft sci-fi lets things fantastical things happen, without trying to explain how it's possible. Soft science fiction or soft sci fi is a genre that consists of scientific or futuristic elements, but does not delve deep into the technical details of the science. Soft sci fi puts more focus on psychology, society/culture, and politics and less on math, engineering, biology, etc.
