Ginger Davis Allman on Instagram: "Soap and water does not work well to clean polymer clay and the associated dyes, pigments, and substances that we use in our art. What does work, though, is rubbing alcohol. It's also known as isopropyl alcohol or ispropanol. No, this isn't the kind you drink.   Rubbing alcohol dissolves polymer clay, alcohol inks, paint, varnish (even dried varnish), liquid clay, and even uncured resin. It's an excellent solvent and it works VERY well as an all-purpose cleaning agent for your polymer clay tools and work surface. It also works wonders for smoothing fingerprints or removing lint from your UNBAKED polymer clay creations. Alcohol won't ruin your manicure or dissolve your tools. (Always use the least aggressive solvent for your needs!!) Clay Repository | DIY Clay kits on Instagram: "⭐️ Clay Tip: Here’s how to remove fingerprints and imperfections when creating pieces with polymer clay. I love shaping clay pieces by hand and don’t really like to use gloves (am I the only one that gets sweaty hands when working with gloves on?). So here’s the perfect solution: corn starch. When I finish my pieces I always smooth them with corn starch to remove finger prints and imperfections. It’s also a great way to smooth edges so you don’t have to sand the pieces after baking. Give it a try next time you are making your clay creations, this is a game changer 😉🙌 #clay #polymerclay #claytip #polymerclayart #polymerclayjewelry #polymerclaycreations #clayartist #claycreations #clayjewelry #handmade #handmadejewelry #handcrafted #clayea Smoothing Polymer Clay, Clay Tips, Sweaty Hands, Clay Pieces, How To Make Clay, Am I The Only One, How To Make Rings, Smooth Edges, Polymer Clay Projects

Firstly if you haven’t seen the last two parts of this tutorial series, I highly recommend you go back and watch them. ⚡️ remember from the last video that these pieces have already been baked. Sculpey Gloss Glaze is my favourite product to use to seal my clay. It’s easy to use, doesn’t require more baking and also leaves the pieces almost looking like they’re covered in resin (without the harmful fumes). Normally polymer clay doesn’t require anything to seal it if baked correctly but I use the above technique anytime if use paint, ink or gold leaf foil. What do you think?
