Okay. I guess if I'm going to be keeping up a journal with any sort of regularity, there are very few details that won't come out on their own, although I should mention a few things just to establish a bit of who I am and what I think and why I think the things I do.

Firstly, I can be pretty long-winded, but I guess that will become evident soon enough.

Secondly, I am widowed. My husband died in late July of 2002 -- a number of years ago now. He was 29. (I was 27 at the time.) It was sudden and completely unexpected. He died a month and a half before our 9th anniversary. We were highschool sweethearts.

Thirdly, I am a dog person. I grew up around big dogs and I love them to bits. I've had Boxers, Rottweilers, and yellow labs in the past, and although I currently have no dog, I look forward to the day where I can get another one.

Fourthly, I am (I like to think) a creative person. I love to write, to draw, to bake, to sing. I do not claim to have any special or innate talent in any of these things, but I enjoy them all the same. I do have a writing filter, so if you're just joining me and would like to be included, be sure to let me know.

Fifthly, and this kind of goes hand-in-hand with point #5, I am an avid role-player and general rpgeek, which some think are unseemly passtimes for a grown woman my age, but I honestly don't care that much for people who think that. (I also have a role-playing filter, so again, if you're interested in hearing about it, let me know.) I have several role-playing systems and entire game worlds that I have co-created along with my husband, and even now that he's gone, I still find great comfort and enjoyment in them. I thought at first that I might withdraw from them, avoiding painful reminders of the astoundingly creative and beautiful man whom I love. Loved? Past tense seems proper for speaking of the deceased, but I still love him even now that he's gone. I suspect I always will.

And finally, I'm currently in a polyamorous relationship with epi_lj, and he and I have been together for just over nine years now. We live together with his wife okoshun in a house we all bought, with our two cats Brucey (the Old Man) and Cleo (the Little Miss).
