Prokaryotic cell model

Prokaryotic cells are single-celled organisms that are the earliest and most primitive forms of life on earth, including bacteria and archaeans.

Evolved nearly 4 billion years ago, prokaryotic cell is the simplest form of cells which lack defined nucleus or membrane-bound nucleus as well as other membrane-bound cell organelles.

Here we have a Prokariotic cell, and its characteristics, from the inside to the outside of it. This is a rare cell, because it does not have defined organelles, so we need to know everything about them.

In this activity, students will work in pairs to doodle two cell models, one of a prokaryotic cell, and one of a eukaryotic cell.

In Biology we are studying the different types of cells- prokaryotic (bacteria), plant, and animal. Students were encouraged to create their own cell models to show the differences in structure and organelles. Beatrice did a fantastic job creating these beautiful, detailed cells! Reading about cells is one thing. Creating them is what brings learning to life, and that's our goal at Next Level Homeschool!
