Cable Building (1892–93) Architect: Stanford White 611-21 Broadway NoHo, New York Built to contain a power plant for cable-driven streetcars by the Metropolian Traction Co. The cable cars initially ran on Broadway from Bowling Green to 36th Street. Later other surface lines were added. But for all their investment ($12 million), the cars only ran for eight years.
