Willie/Alex is the perfect canon ship to me. The prequel book talks a little about how Alex had, up until he died, repressed a lot of his queerness despite being out as gay. Wanting to be palatable for his parents just in-case they’d come around, etc. Luke’s POV mentions in passing that he has no idea what kind of guys Alex even likes, so getting to see Alex fall head over heels for a Cute Ghost Boy now that he’s dead and his parents can’t see or judge him makes me so overemotional I’m afraid!!

• Willex is probably the one ship in JatP I actively seek out AUs for - maybe because we got so much of them in canon that I just feel so well fed! But feel free to go crazy with AUs here. Magical realism AUs, maybe? AU where only one of them is a ghost?
• Willie’s POV! I love, love, love Willie pining for Alex. I just do. Sure, Alex is more obvious about it, but Willie was willing to risk Caleb destroying his soul just to check in on Alex through a tiny glass window sometimes. I think Willie’s obsession with him is glorious, and wonderful, and I want to eat it up.

My beloved little rarepair… they have so much in common; Reggie wears his leather jacket and his smooth-talking of girls the exact same way Nick wears his letterman and dates the pretty, talented girls he should like. Like their respective armor will stop people realizing they’re people too, and not just there to keep things smooth and be kind and make jokes and avoid conflict (Reggie and his should’ve-divorced parents I think about you every day). I just think they’d see through each other in a way even their friends don’t.

• Nick struggling post-possession. I totally understand the desire to gloss over the whole thing, but I’ve always been sickened by Caleb’s taking & abusing a fifteen year old’s body for his own ends.
• Also a fan of Nick being a little more ghost than human after the possession - let him see & talk to the ghosts around him after. Let a bit of Caleb’s magic linger. Hell, kill him exiling Caleb from his body if you want. Ghost!Nick could be fun.
• Reggie haunting Nick! I love playing with the ghostliness of things. We know he has no qualms with one-sided human friendship! Alex and Luke too distracted by Willie and Julie to notice Reggie keeps vanishing; could be a fun little canon-compliant S1 plot, because I mourn Reggie doing things through S1 so badly. Let him see Nick having stupid little princess dance parties with his little sister and wonder how Stevie is doing. Big brothers of JatP you will always be famous.

• Flynn being jealous of the Sunset Curve boys! I absolutely ate up the little jealous!Flynn we got in Flying Solo and I want to eat more of it. Does she know she's jealous because she's in love with Julie, or does the jealousy force her to reckon with that? So many pathways...

• Bashing of any character other than Caleb. Especially heavy on Bobby/Nick/Carrie should they be mentioned or present (I don't consider acknowledging the harmful nature of Carrie in her relationships with Julie/Flynn/Nick or anger over Bobby's theft of the music to be bashing. They did that shit!).
• Seriously, though, feel free to bash Caleb. Please bash Caleb.
• Making Nick and/or Bobby seem worse to prop Luke up. I adore Luke, he’s my special guy, but so are Nick and Bobby!
• The Sunset Curve boys being anachronistically aware of the 2020s understanding of orientation/gender/expression & therapy-speak.
• Good person!Caleb / Caleb being Willie's dad.

Only when Theo defeats Mabel's seven evil ex-love interests will I know peace. I think their dynamic is the most intriguing we've seen Mabel involved in since the formation of the OMitB podcast trio.

• Theo being Mabel's love interest in any season at all - I'd love to see how things unfold with him firmly in her corner even more-so than he already is.
• 'Everyone sees it but them' is a trope that I think is criminally under-acknowledged for them. Oliver knows them both incredibly well. Charles is an analytical guy when it comes to the world in front of him. Loretta understands people on such a deep level that she couldn't not know. Thé has known Mabel longer than anyone in the Arconia, she's absolutely clocking it.
• Outsider POV, for the same reason.
• Mabel learning ASL for Theo! That was the cutest addition that hasn't been brought up anywhere near enough by canon since.
• Mabel moving in with Theo instead of in with the Westies!

The opposites attract of Steddie makes me gnaw at the bars of my cage, just a little bit feral. I do also think Steve deserves to have someone he doesn't have to mother hen. Let the dude relax!!! I love that Steve slowly started to become more at home among the freaks and weirdos than people like Tommy and Carol, and I feel like Steddie is the natural conclusion of that arc.

• I’m a huge sucker for outsider POV on Steddie. They’re just such an unusual and unlikely pair, and everyone in Hawkins has such specific preconceived notions of them. I love the confusion, suspicion, shock. Especially from those in Eddie’s circle - Wayne, Jeff, Gareth.
• Protective!Steve, you will always be famous. Let him swing the nail bat around. I think Eddie would find it hot.
• AUs! I love AUs for them; they just fit so well into any situation you can throw at them.
• I know the general consensus is that Steve is bisexual, but I'm a sucker for anything that explores Steve being gay - especially in conjunction with his fall from grace / discovery of self as he realizes he is, as Nancy so eloquently put it, bullshit.
• Eddie being completely inexperienced behind his showmanship; after all, he is generally exiled as The Freak.
