Walking on the moon

It might be quicker than we originally believed, but it's a logistical nightmare.

A4 size illustration that depicts an astronaut walking across the surface of the Moon. The arc of the astronaut's boot prints, curvature of the Moon's surface and negative space above the Moon mountains reflects the shape of the Moon and it's orbit around the Earth. The illustration was created in 2019 to commemorate 50th years since the first Moon landing and is seen through the camera lens of the astronaut's colleague.

This is one half of a stereo card of a lady wrapped in net sitting on a paper moon. This stereo card was a bit risque when it was made for display in a stereo viewing machine at an arcade. We have a several series of these stereo that show women in various stages of undress. We have a friend who calls them "girls in rags" since most are modestly wrapped in a length of filmy fabric.

Eight years after Russian Yuri Gagarin exited the atmosphere in a space capsule and circled the earth, the United States made history by landing men on the moon. The historic day was July 21, 1969 and Apollo 11 touched down on the lunar surface and Neil Armstrong became the first man to walk on the moon. Before the Apollo space program ended there would be 38 astronauts participating and of those 38 only twelve would actually put their feet on the moon.
