This latest sensory bin is packed with letters and numbers, turning learning into a hands-on adventure! As little ones dig through the bin to find and match the letters and numbers to the iSpy page, they’re building crucial early literacy and numeracy skills. 🖍️📚

Letter and number recognition is key to a strong educational foundation, and sensory play is the perfect way to make this learning process engaging and effective. The tactile experience helps reinforce what they see, hear, and touch, making it easier for preschoolers to retain new information. 🌟

Jen~Where Learning Meets Play on Instagram: "A little glimpse into one day of my second week of kindergarten last year. I’m taking notes😉 Are you? The big thing to remember is that it isn’t really all about the activities (good ones help) but rather the explicit teaching of routines in this time when we are transitioning into more focused literacy and numeracy play during these sessions. Making expectations clear helps the learning to occur as smoothly as possible for the remainder of the year. I can honestly say play sessions last year were a lifesaver & 100% necessary for the class I had. These initial week helped more than I could have known at that point. When we had to skip sessions for special (fun) occasions my class complained- that’s how much they loved and valued this time. Harrison loves numbers and counting so I had to celebrate International Day of Mathematics with some counting play.  If you have some pool noodles laying around, give this easy prep activity a go. After Harrison finished counting, he went and got a shark and continued to play with the fish and shark. He counted how many fish the shark ate, and then sang 'Baby Shark'. I love watching his play evolve. Did you join in some play for the International Day of Mathematics?
