FCC-ee is a proposed lepton collider with a circumference close to 100 km to produce an unprecedented amount of luminosity. The FCC-ee optics tuning working group is addressing one of the most critical aspects of the FCC-ee, that is the recovery of the optics design performance in presence of realistic imperfections. / van Riesen-Haupt, Léon (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Franchi, Andrea (ESRF, Grenoble) ; Faus-Golfe, Angeles (IJCLab, Orsay) ; Chance, Antoine (Paris, CEA) ; Dalena, Barbara (Paris, CEA) ; Järmyr Eriksson, Carl (CERN) ; Carli, Christian (CERN) ; Garcia Jaimes, Cristobal Miguel (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Shatilov, Dmitry (CERN) ; Musa, Elaf (DESY) et al.
With a circumference of approximately 91 km, the Future Circular electron-positron Collider, FCC-ee, aims for unprecedented luminosities at beam energies from 45.6 to 182.5 GeV. A major challenge is reaching its design performance in the presence of magnet misalignments and field errors. [...]

Impact of dipole quadrupolar errors in FCC-ee
/ García-Jaimes, C (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Pieloni, T (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; van Riesen-Haupt, L (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Seidel, M (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Tomás, R (CERN)
FCC-ee performance is challenged by magnetic errors and imperfections. Magnetic design simulations predict a systematic quadrupolar component in the arc dipoles significantly impacting the machine optics. [...]

Development of Collimation Simulations for the FCC-ee
/ Abramov, Andrey (CERN) ; Bruce, Roderik (CERN) ; Carlier, Felix (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Hofer, Michael (CERN) ; Iadarola, Giovanni (CERN) ; Nevay, Laurence (JAI, UK) ; Pieloni, Tatiana (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Rakic, Milica (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Redaelli, Stefano (CERN) ; White, Simon (ESRF, Grenoble)
A collimation system is under study for the FCC-ee to protect the machine from the multi-MJ electron and positron beams and limit the backgrounds to the detectors. One of the key aspects of the collimation system design is the setup of simulation studies combining particle tracking and scattering in the collimators. [...]

Selected advances in the accelerator design of the Future Circular Electron-Positron Collider (FCC-ee)
/ FCC Collaboration
In autumn 2023, the FCC Feasibility Study underwent a crucial “mid-term review”. We describe some accelerator performance risks for the proposed future circular electron-positron collider, FCC-ee, identified for, and during, the mid-term review. [...]

Review of MAD-X for FCC-ee studies
/ Simon, Guillaume (CERN ; IJCLab, Orsay) ; Faus-Golfe, Angeles (IJCLab, Orsay) ; van Riesen-Haupt, Léon (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; De Maria, Riccardo (CERN) ; Pieloni, Tatiana (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne)
The design of the electron-positron Future Circular Collider (FCC-ee) challenges the requirements on optics codes (like MAD-X) in terms of accuracy, consistency, and performance. Traditionally, MAD-X uses a transport formalism by expanding the transfer map about the origin up to second order to compute optics functions and synchrotron radiation integrals in the TWISS and EMIT modules. Simulated performance of FCC-ee IP tuning knobs
/ Jagabathuni, Satya Sai (CERN ; U. Geneva (main)) ; Zimmermann, Frank (CERN) ; van Riesen-Haupt, Léon (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Hofer, Michael (CERN) ; Carlier, Felix (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne)
The Future Circular electron-positron Collider (FCC-ee) is a proposed accelerator with 91 kilometres circumference that should serve as a Higgs and electroweak factory, with unprecedented luminosity. Unavoidable misalignments and field errors will generate optics errors at the interaction point (IP), whose effect will be amplified by the beam-beam collisions, which will make it challenging for the collider to reach its intended luminosity goals. Lattice correction and polarization estimation for the Future Circular Collider e+e-
/ Wu, Yi (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Carlier, Felix (CERN) ; van Riesen-Haupt, Léon (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Hofer, Michael (CERN) ; Seidel, Mike (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Pieloni, Tatiana (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Herr, Werner (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne)
Precise determination of the center-of-mass energy in the Future Circular Collider e+e- (FCC-ee) at Z and W energies can be achieved by employing resonant spin depolarization techniques, for which a sufficient level of transverse beam polarization is demanded under the presence of machine imperfections. In this study, the FCC-ee lattice has been modeled and simulated with a variety of realistic lattice imperfections, including misalignments, angular deviations, BPM errors, long-range errors, etc., along with refined orbit correction and tune matching procedures. Exploring FCC-ee optics designs with combined function magnets
/ García-Jaimes, C (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Pieloni, T (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; van Riesen-Haupt, L (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Seidel, M (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Tomás, R (CERN)
The FCC-ee project takes a step forward towards the discovery of new physical phenomena beyond the frontier of the standard model, by aiming at unprecedented center of mass energies and luminosities in a double-ring lepton collider. In order to explore potential improvements to the current lattice design, this paper looks at the use of combined function magnets within the short straight sections of the arc cells. [...]

A significant project such as the FCC-ee (with 91.17 km circumference) entails numerous challenges to ensure the stability and performance of the machine. In the pursuit of contributing to the improvement of energy consumption during its operation, the exploration of Nested Magnets (NMs) as a means to reduce synchrotron radiation has been undertaken.
