From the study of the reaction pi /sup -/p to p/sub F/pp pi /sup -/ using a fast proton (p/sub F/) trigger device in the CERN Omega spectrometer, the authors find evidence for two narrow pp states produced mainly in association with a Delta degrees (1232) and a N degrees (1520). The statistical significance of each peak is greater than 6 standard deviations. [...]

The authors report the evidence for a narrow charged peak (5.5 s.d.), which they suggest calling the I, in the 6-prong-V/sup 0/ topology of pp interactions at 12 GeV/c. The mass, width and the product of cross section sigma /sub I/ times the branching ratio BR into the final state (K/sub s//sup 0/ pi /sup +or-/ pi /sup +/ pi /sup -/) are found to be: M/sub I/=2.60+or-0.01 GeV/c/sup 2/, Gamma /sub I/<or=0.018 GeV /c/sup 2/, sigma /sub I/.BR approximately=20 mu barn. First observation of the production and decay of the $\Sigma_{c}^{+}$ / BEBC TST Neutrino Collaboration
An event with the decay chain Sigma /sub c//sup +/ to Lambda /sub c //sup +/+ pi /sup 0/, Lambda /sub c//sup +/ to K/sup -/+p+ pi /sup +/, has been observed in an exposure of BEBC, equipped with a track sensitive target, to the wide band neutrino beam from the SPS at CERN. The event has a unique three constraint kinematic fit to the Delta S=- Delta Q reaction nu +p to mu /sup -/+p+K/sup -/+ pi /sup +/+ pi /sup + /+ pi /sup 0/ with both gammas from the pi /sup 0/ decay detected. Further investigation of the ${\gamma}$-transitions in $^{4}_{\Lambda}$H and $^{4}_{\Lambda}$He hypernuclei / CERN-Lyons-Warsaw Collaboration
The gamma -spectra induced by stopped K/sup -/ mesons in /sup 6/Li and /sup 7/Li targets were obtained in coincidence with the accompanying charged pions and pi /sup 0/ mesons. The gamma -line at (1.04+or-0.04) MeV observed with charged pions was identified as a gamma -transition in /sub Lambda //sup 4/H, whereas the gamma -line at (1.15+or-0.04) Me V observed with pi /sup 0/ mesons was ascribed to a gamma -transition in /sub Lambda //sup 4/He.
