Thermal freeze-out and longitudinally nonuniform collective expansion flow in relativistic heavy ion collisions / Feng Sheng Qin ; Liu Feng ; Lian Shou Liu
The nonuniform longitudinal flow model (NUFM) proposed recently is extended to include also the transverse flow. The resulting longitudinally nonuniform collective expansion model (NUCEM) is applied to the calculation of the rapidity distribution of kaons, lambdas and protons in relativistic heavy ion collisions at CERN-SPS energies. Proton rapidity distribution in nucleus-nucleus collisions at high energy / Fu Hu Liu (Dept of Phys)
The proton rapidity distributions in nucleus-nucleus collisions at the Alternating Gradient Synchrotron (AGS) and the Super Proton Synchrotron (SPS) energies are analyzed by the revised thermalized cylinder model. The calculated results are compared and found to be in agreement with the experimental data of Si-Al and Si-Pb collisions at 14.6 A GeV/c, Pb-Pb collisions at 158 A GeV/c, and S-S collisions at 200 AGeV/c. Nonidentical particle correlations in STAR / Erazmus, B ; Kisiel, A ; Renault, G ; Retière, F ; Szarwas, P
The correlation function of nonidentical particles is sensitive to the relative space-time asymmetries in particle emission. Analysing pion-kaon, pion-proton and kaon-proton correlation functions, measured in the Au+Au collisions by the STAR experiment at RHIC, we show that pions, kaons and protons are not emitted at the same average space-time coordinates. Strangeness production as a signal for phase transition... ? / Odyniec, Grazyna Janina (Lawrence Berkeley Lab)
Hadronic yields and their ratios observed in CERN SPS heavy ion experiments with S and Pb beams at 158 GeV/c per nucleon are reviewed. The role of strange particle production in the search for a new phase of matter, in both experiment and theory, is discussed. [...]

Coalescence, interferometry and flow / NA44 Collaboration
NA44 has measured proton and deuteron distributions from SS and SPb collisions at 200 GeV/c and PbPb collisions at 158 GeV/c. The mean $p_{T}$ of both protons and deuterons grows with system size but the deuterons are somewhat slower than the protons. [...]

LEXUS heavy ion collisions / Sang Yong Jeon (Sch of Phys & Astron)
We use a Glauber-like approach to describe very energetic nucleus- nucleus collisions as a sequence of binary nucleon-nucleon collisions. No free parameters are needed: all the information comes from simple parametrizations of nucleon-nucleon collision data. [...]

Particle production in central Pb-Pb collisions at high energy / Fu Hu Liu
The rapidity and transverse-momentum distributions of particles produced in central Pb-Pb collisions at high energy are analyzed by the thermalized cylinder model. The calculated results are compared and found to be in agreement with the recent experimental data of the NA49 Collaboration. [...]

Determination of the number of wounded nucleons in Pb+Pb collisions at 158 A GeV/c / NA57 Collaboration
The charged particle multiplicity distributions measured by two experiments, WA97 and NA57, in Pb+Pb collisions at 158 A GeV/c have been analyzed in the framework of the wounded nucleon model (WNM). We obtain a good description of the data within the centrality range of our samples. [...]

Anisotropic flow from AGS to LHC energies / Kolb, P F ; Sollfrank, J ; Heinz, Ulrich W
Within hydrodynamics we study the effects of the initial spatial anisotropy in non-central heavy-ion collisions on the momentum distributions of the emitted hadrons. We show that the elliptic flow measured at midrapidity in 158 A GeV/c Pb+Pb collisions can be quantitatively reproduced by hydrodynamic expansion, indicating early thermalization in the collision. Transverse momentum dependence of directed particle flow at 160A GeV / Zabrodin, E E ; Fuchs, C ; Bravina, L V ; Faessler, A
The transverse momentum (p/sub t/) dependence of hadron flow at SPS energies is studied. In particular, the nucleon and pion flow in S+S and Pb+Pb collisions at 160A GeV is investigated. [...]
