Measurement of the $^{244}$ Cm and $^{246}$ Cm Neutron-Induced Cross Sections at the n_TOF Facility / Alcayne, V (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Kimura, A (JAERI, Tokai) ; Mendoza, E (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Cano-Ott, D (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Aberle, O (CERN) ; Amaducci, S (INFN, Catania) ; Andrzejewski, J (Lodz U.) ; Audouin, L (Orsay, IPN) ; Babiano-Suarez, V (Valencia U., IFIC) ; Bacak, M (CERN ; Vienna, Tech. U.) et al.
The neutron capture reactions of the$^{244}$ Cm and$^{246}$ Cm isotopes open the path for the formation of heavier Cm isotopes and of heavier elements such as Bk and Cf in a nuclear reactor. In addition, both isotopes belong to the minor actinides with a large contribution to the decay heat and to the neutron emission in irradiated fuels proposed for the transmutation of nuclear waste and fast critical reactors. High accuracy, high resolution $^{235}$U(n,f) cross section from n_TOF (CERN) from 18 meV to 10 keV / n_TOF Collaboration
The 235U(n,f) cross section was measured in a wide energy range (25 meV - 170 keV) at the n_TOF facility at CERN, relative to 6Li(n,t) and 10B(n,alpha) standard reactions, with high resolution and accuracy, with a setup based on a stack of six samples and six silicon detectors placed in the neutron beam. In this paper we report on the results in the region between thermal and 10 keV neutron energy. [...]

Data for the s Process from n_TOF / n_TOF Collaboration
A considerable amount of (n, $\gamma $ ) reactions has been studied, so far, at the neutron time-of-flight facility n_TOF at CERN. The experimental program aims at determining and improving cross sections for a number of isotopes relevant to s-process nucleosynthesis. [...]

Neutron capture cross section measurements are of fundamental importance for the study of the slow process of neutron capture, so called s-process. This mechanism is responsible for the formation of most elements heavier than iron in the Universe. [...]

The 235U(n,f) cross section was measured in a wide energy range at n_TOF relative to 6Li(n,t) and 10B(n,alpha), with high resolution and in a wide energy range, with a setup based on a stack of six samples and six silicon detectors placed in the neutron beam. This allowed us to make a direct comparison of the reaction yields under the same experimental conditions, and taking into account the forward/backward emission asymmetry. [...]

$^{7}$ Be(n,p)$^{7}$ Li Cross Section Measurement for the Cosmological Lithium Problem at the n $\_$ TOF Facility at CERN / n_TOF Collaboration
One of the most puzzling problems in Nuclear Astrophysics is the “Cosmological Lithium Problem”, i.e the discrepancy between the primordial abundance of$^{7}$ Li observed in metal poor halo stars (Asplund et al. in Astrophys J 644:229–259, 2006, [1]), and the one predicted by Big Bang Nucleosynthesis (BBN). i-TED is an innovative detection system which exploits Compton imaging techniques to achieve a superior signal-to-background ratio in ($n,\gamma$) cross-section measurements using time-of-flight technique. This work presents the first experimental validation of the i-TED apparatus for high-resolution time-of-flight experiments and demonstrates for the first time the concept proposed for background rejection.
