Quarkonium Production Studies in CMS / Yang, Z. (Peking U. ; Lanzhou U.) ; Kraan, A.C. (INFN, Pisa) /CMS Collaboration
When the LHC starts its operation, CMS will have a unique opportunity to study quarkonium production in $pp$ collisions and later in $PbPb$ collisions. Here we report on the methods and plans for measuring the differential $p_T$~ $J\psi\rightarrow\mu^+\mu^-$ production cross section, using data to be collected in the first LHC run by the CMS detector. [...]

Feasibility study of a J/$\psi$ cross section measurement with early CMS data /CMS Collaboration
We report on the methods and plans for measuring the differential $p_T$~ \jpsi$\rightarrow\mu^+\mu^-$ production cross section, using data to be collected in the first LHC run by the CMS detector. Making use of the large B-hadron lifetime, we show how to separate the promptly produced \jpsi's from those coming from B-hadron decays. [...]

Quarkonium studies in p+p and Pb+Pb collisions with CMS / Dahms, T (CERN) /CMS Collaboration
The collisions of Pb nuclei at the LHC will create strongly interacting matter at unprecedented energy densities, allowing us to probe QCD at extreme temperatures and very low parton momentum fractions. This paper presents the capabilities of the CMS experiment to study the production of quarkonium states in $p+p$ and Pb+Pb collisions. [...]

W and Z bosons measurement in PbPb collisions with CMS / Benhabib, Lamia (Ecole Polytechnique) /for the CMS Collaboration
The electroweak bosons W and Z produced in PbPb collisions at LHC at $\sqrt{s} = 2.76$~TeV have been measured and studied through their leptonic decay channel with the CMS detector. In the following we present the measurement of the Z yields as a function of $p_T$, rapidity and centrality based on 2011 PbPb data with an integrated luminosity of 150~$\mu b^{-1}$, and the W yield as a function of centrality as well as the muon charge asymmetry using 2010 PbPb data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 7.3~$\mu b^{-1}$. Production of Lambda(c) in pp and PbPb collisions at sqrt(s) = 5.02 TeV /CMS Collaboration
The differential cross sections of $\Lambda_C^{+}$ baryon production are measured via the exclusive decay channel $\Lambda_C^{+}\to p K^{-}\pi^{+}$, as a function of transverse momentum ($p_T$) in proton-proton (pp) and lead-lead (PbPb) collisions at a nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energy of 5.02$~\mathrm{TeV}$ with the CMS detector at the LHC. The measurement is performed within the $\Lambda_C^{+}$ rapidity interval $|y| < 1.0$ in the $p_T$ range of 5-20 GeV/$c$ in pp and 10-20 GeV/$c$ in PbPb collisions. [...]

Quarkonia Production in Ultraperipheral PbPb Collisions at the LHCb / Belin, Samuel (Santiago de Compostela U., IGFAE ; Santiago de Compostela U.) /LHCb Collaboration
We report on the measurement of charmonia in both peripheral and ultraperipheral PbPb collisions recorded by the LHCb detector. The measurement of J/ψ in ultraperipheral PbPb collisions provides unique opportunities to study the low-x gluons constituent of the Pb nuclei, while the precise measurement of the low-pT J/ψ confirms coherent production in hadronic collisions..

Weak boson production measured in PbPb and pp collisions by CMS / Robles, Jorge A. /for the CMS Collaboration
The unprecedented center-of-mass energy available at the LHC offers unique opportunities for studying the properties of the strongly-interacting QCD matter created in PbPb collisions at extreme temperatures and very low parton momentum fractions. Electroweak boson production is an important benchmark process at hadron colliders. [...]

Observation of the $\Upsilon\textrm{(3S)}$ meson and sequential suppression of $\Upsilon$ states in PbPb collisions at $\sqrt{\mathrm{s_{NN}}}=5.02~\mathrm{TeV}$ /CMS Collaboration
The production of $\Upsilon\textrm{(2S)}$ and $\Upsilon\textrm{(3S)}$ mesons in lead-lead (PbPb) and proton-proton (pp) collisions is studied using the CMS detector at the LHC. Their nuclear modification factors, $R_{\textrm{AA}}$, derived from the ratio of yields measured in PbPb to pp collisions, are reported as functions of transverse momentum and PbPb collision centrality. Photon-induced processes at ATLAS and CMS / Royon, Christophe (Kansas U.) /ATLAS Collaboration ; CMS Collaboration
We present the most recent results from the ATLAS and CMS collaborations on photon-induced processes, namely the first observation of exclusive $WW$ production in $pp$ collisions and light-by-light scattering in $PbPb$ collisions. The exclusive production of dileptons is also presented, and the first limit on exclusive diphoton production at high mass..
