Spin asymmetries $A_1$ of the proton and the deuteron in the low $x$ and low $Q^2$ region from polarized high energy muon scattering / NA47 Collaboration
We present the results of the spin asymmetries $A_1$ of the proton and the deuteron in the kinematic region extending down to $x=6\cdot 10^{-5}$ and $Q^2=0.01$ GeV$^2$. The data were taken with a dedicated low $x$ trigger, which required hadron detection in addition to the scattered muon, so as to reduce the background at low $x$. [...]

Spin structure studies with polarized leptons / Kinney, E R
Precise measurements of the inclusive spin structure function g/sub 1 / of the nucleon are reviewed, focussing on recent measurements at SLAC, CERN and DESY. New semi-inclusive measurements of the spin structure at CERN and DESY are discussed as well the planned measurements of the gluon contribution to the nucleon. [...]

Recent results from the SMC / Kurek, K (CERN) /NA47 Collaboration
A list of SMC activities is presented. The final results on spin asymmetries in the low $x$ and low $Q^{2}$ region are discussed. [...]

The COMPASS experiment and the measurement of the gluon polarisation / Tessarotto, F (CERN)
The new COMPASS fixed target experiment at CERN, aimed at the study of nucleon spin structure and hadron spectroscopy, has started to collect physics data in autumn 2001. This paper describes the COMPASS apparatus and the measurement of the gluon polarisation Delta G/G. [...]

Spin physics by the SMC / Le Goff, J M (CERN) /NA47 Collaboration
The Spin Muon Collaboration at CERN has covered a wide range of spin physics. The main aim of the collaboration was the measurement of the $g_{1}$ spin structure functions of the proton and the neutron (using deuteron targets) in the range $0.003<x<0.7$ for $Q^{2} \geq $ 1 GeV$^{2}$. [...]

An experimental review of the nucleon spin structure functions / Petratos, G G
An experimental review of the nucleon spin structure functions g1 and g2, as measured in deep inelastic scattering of polarized leptons by polarized nucleons, is presented. Particular emphasis is given to the theoretical interpretation of the spin structure functions, to recent experiments at CERN, SLAC and DESY, and to the presentation and discussion of the available experimental data. The COMPASS experiment at CERN ; 2000 ed. / Bravar, A /COMPASS Collaboration
The COMPASS experiment at CERN is aimed at the study of the nucleon spin structure and hadron spectroscopy. It attempts a measurement of the gluon polarization around x/sub g/ approximately=0.1 with a precision better than delta ( Delta g/g)<0.1. [...]

Possible oscillations of the KNO scaling and the leading-particle effect / Blazek, M
Extending the ideas of Koba-Nielsen-Olesen (KNO) and combining them with the data on deep inelastic muon-proton scattering at the cms energy square root (s) from about 4 up to 20 GeV, we are led to the conclusion that the KNO scaling might reveal oscillations. Data on the scattering of muons on deuterons (while 8<or= square root (s)<or =30 GeV) as well as on the proton-proton and proton-antiproton collisions (in the range of square root (s) from about 11 up to 900 GeV) are also compatible with that phenomenon. Spin asymmetries $A_1$ and structure functions $g_1$ of the proton and the deuteron from polarized high energy muon scattering / NA47 Collaboration
We present the final results of the spin asymmetries $A_1$ and the spin structure functions $g_1$ of the proton and the deuteron in the kinematic range $0.0008<x<0.7$ and $0.2<Q^2<100$ GeV$^2$. For the determination of $A_1$, in addition to the usual method which employs inclusive scattering events and includes a large radiative background at low $x$, we use a new method which minimizes t he radiative background by selecting events with at least one hadron as well as a muon in the final state.
