Upcoming large scale particle accelerators, such as the Future Circular Collider (FCC), the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) and the International Linear Collider (ILC) are expected to require RF drive on the order of 100 MW. Therefore, efforts to improve the efficiency of the specific RF source is of significant interest to the particle accelerator community. [...]

Optimization of the Cryogenic Current Comparator (CCC) for Beam Intensity Measurement / Sieber, Thomas (Darmstadt, GSI) ; De Gersem, Herbert (Darmstadt, Tech. Hochsch.) ; Fernandes, Miguel (CERN ; Liverpool U.) ; Golm, Jessica (Unlisted, DE) ; Jones, Robert (CERN) ; Kowina, Piotr (Darmstadt, GSI) ; Kurian, Febin (Darmstadt, GSI) ; Marsic, Nicolas (Darmstadt, Tech. Hochsch.) ; Neubert, Ralf (Unlisted, DE) ; Reeg, Hansjörg (Darmstadt, GSI) et al.
Triggered by the need for current measurement in the nA range for slow extracted beams and for the beams in the storage rings at FAIR and CERN, the idea of the CCC as a current transformer has been revitalized during the last ten years. Compared to the first prototype, developed at GSI in the 90s, the second generation of CCCs is based on the possibility of detailed simulation of superconducting magnetic shielding properties, new nano-crystalline materials for the magnetic ring-cores, and on superior commercially available SQUID systems. 3D integration methodologies of the accelerators at CERN / Magazinik, Anastasiya (Unlisted, CH) ; Tursun, Alparslan (Unlisted, CH) ; Kosmicki, Antoine (CERN) ; del Alamo, Daniel (CERN) ; Valchkova-Georgieva, Fani (Unlisted, CH) ; Galleazzi, Frederic (CERN) ; Corso, Jean-Pierre (CERN) ; Coupard, Julie (CERN) ; Joannon, Nicolas (Unlisted, CH) ; Maridor, Stephane (CERN) et al.
The 3D design of large accelerators like the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) requires coordination among equipment, services, and infrastructures. As numerous systems are designed, procured, and installed, 3D integration studies are important steps at any stages of a project, starting from the conceptual phase with space reservations, envelopes and interfaces, followed by the technical design phase managing the detailed and simplified 3D models, and finishing by the installation phase with follow-up of discrepancies.
