First Axion Results from the XENON100 Experiment / XENON100 Collaboration
We present the first results of searches for axions and axion-like-particles with the XENON100 experiment. The axion-electron coupling constant, $g_{Ae}$, has been tested by exploiting the axio-electric effect in liquid xenon. [...]

Evidence for $\nu_\mu \to \nu_\tau$ appearance in the CNGS neutrino beam with the OPERA experiment / OPERA Collaboration
The OPERA experiment is designed to search for $\nu_{\mu} \rightarrow \nu_{\tau}$ oscillations in appearance mode i.e. through the direct observation of the $\tau$ lepton in $\nu_{\tau}$ charged current interactions. [...]

Froissart Bound on Total Cross-section without Unknown Constants / Martin, André (CERN) ; Roy, S.M. (Tata Inst.)
We determine the scale of the logarithm in the Froissart bound on total cross-sections using absolute bounds on the D-wave below threshold for $\pi\pi$ scattering. E.g. [...]

Precision measurement of the mass and lifetime of the $\Xi_b^0$ baryon / LHCb collaboration
Using a proton-proton collision data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb$^{-1}$ collected by LHCb at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, about 3800 $\Xi_b^0\to\Xi_c^+\pi^-$, $\Xi_c^+\to pK^-\pi^+$ signal decays are reconstructed. From this sample, the first measurement of the $\Xi_b^0$ baryon lifetime is made, relative to that of the $\Lambda_b^0$ baryon. [...]

Studies of beauty baryon decays to $D^0 ph^-$ and $\Lambda_c^+ h^-$ final states / LHCb collaboration
Decays of beauty baryons to the $D^0 p h^-$ and $\Lambda_c^+ h^-$ final states (where $h$ indicates a pion or a kaon) are studied using a data sample of $pp$ collisions, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb$^{-1}$, collected by the LHCb detector. The Cabibbo-suppressed decays $\Lambda_b^0\to D^0 p K^-$ and $\Lambda_b^0\to \Lambda_c^+ K^-$ are observed and their branching fractions are measured with respect to the decays $\Lambda_b^0\to D^0 p \pi^-$ and $\Lambda_b^0\to \Lambda_c^+ \pi^-$. B_{s,d} -> l+ l- in the Standard Model / Bobeth, Christoph (Munich, Tech. U.) ; Gorbahn, Martin (Liverpool U., Dept. Math. ; Munich, Tech. U.) ; Hermann, Thomas (KIT, Karlsruhe, TTP) ; Misiak, Mikolaj (Warsaw U. ; CERN) ; Stamou, Emmanuel (Munich, Tech. U. ; Weizmann Inst.) ; Steinhauser, Matthias (KIT, Karlsruhe, TTP)
We combine our new results for the O(alpha_em) and O(alpha_s^2) corrections to B_{s,d} -> l^+ l^-, and present updated branching ratio predictions for these decays in the standard model. Inclusion of the new corrections removes major theoretical uncertainties of perturbative origin that have just begun to dominate over the parametric ones. [...]

Study of beauty hadron decays into pairs of charm hadrons / LHCb collaboration
First observations of the decays $\Lambda_b^0 \to \Lambda_c^+ D_{(s)}^-$ are reported using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $3\,{\rm fb}^{-1}$ collected at 7 and 8 TeV center-of-mass energy in proton-proton collisions with the LHCb detector. In addition, the most precise measurement of the branching fraction ${\mathcal{B}(B_s^0 \to D^+D_s^-)}$ is made and a search is performed for the decays $B^0_{(s)} \to \Lambda_c^+ \Lambda_c^-$. [...]

Shell structure of potassium isotopes deduced from their magnetic moments / IS484 collaboration
$\textbf{Background:}$ Ground-state spins and magnetic moments are sensitive to the nuclear wave function, thus they are powerful probes to study the nuclear structure of isotopes far from stability. \\ \\ $\textbf{Purpose:}$ Extend our knowledge about the evolution of the $1/2^+$ and $3/2^+$ states for K isotopes beyond the $N = 28$ shell gap. Measurement of the Charged-Pion Polarizability / COMPASS Collaboration
The COMPASS collaboration at CERN has investigated pion Compton scattering, $\pi^-\gamma\rightarrow \pi^-\gamma$, at centre-of-mass energy below 3.5 pion masses. The process is embedded in the reaction $\pi^-\mathrm{Ni}\rightarrow\pi^-\gamma\;\mathrm{Ni}$, which is initiated by 190 GeV pions impinging on a nickel target. [...]

Measurement of resonant and $CP$ components in $\overline{B}_s^0\to J/\psi\pi^+\pi^-$ decays / LHCb Collaboration
The resonant structure of the decay $\overline{B}_s^0\to J/\psi\pi^+\pi^-$ is studied using data corresponding to 3 fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity from $pp$ collisions by the LHC and collected by the LHCb detector. Five interfering $\pi^+\pi^-$ states are required to describe the decay: $f_0(980),~f_0(1500),~f_0(1790),~f_2(1270)$, and $f_2^{\prime}(1525)$. [...]
