Determining tan beta with neutral and charged Higgs bosons at a future $e^{+} e^{-}$ linear collider / Gunion, J F ; Han, T ; Jiang, J ; Sopczak, A
The ratio of neutral Higgs field vacuum expectation values, tan beta , is one of the most important parameters to determine in either the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) or a general type-II two-Higgs doublet model (2HDM). Assuming an energy and integrated luminosity of square root s=500 GeV and L=2000 fb/sup -1/ at a future linear collider (LC), we show that a very accurate determination of tan beta will be possible for low and high tan beta values by measuring the production rates of Higgs bosons and reconstructing Higgs boson decays. A detailed study of exclusive and inclusive $(e^{+}e^{-})$ induced processes in the energy range 1.2-3.0 GeV / Zichichi, A (CERN) ; Bollini, D ; Bernardini, A ; Brunini, P L ; Massam, Thomas ; Monari, L ; Palmonari, F ; Rimondi, F
The authors have studied a total of 26208 events produced in (e/sup + /e/sup -/) reactions in the energy range from 1.2 to 3.0 GeV. All these events had to have at least two charged particles in the final state with an energy cut-off, depending on the nature of the particle: E/sub e/>or=100 MeV; E/sub pi />or=100 MeV; E/sub K/>or=225 MeV. e/sup +/e/sup -/ annihilation into two hadrons in the energy interval 1400-2400 MeV / Alles-Borelli, V ; Bernardini, M ; Bollini, D ; Brunini, P L ; Fiorentino, E ; Massam, Thomas ; Monari, L ; Palmonari, F ; Rimondi, F ; Zichichi, A
The proof is given for the existence of the reaction e/sup +/e/sup -/ to /sup +or-/h/sup -or+/ in the energy range 1400-2400 MeV, and its energy dependence is compared with that of e/sup +/e/sup -/ to e/sup +or-/E/sup -or+/, in the same experimental conditions of observation. The exponent of the s-dependence of the ratio alpha =(e/sup +/e/sup -/ to h/sup +or-/h/sup -or+/)/(e/sup +/e/sup -/ to e/sup +or-/e/sup -or+ /) is measured to be n=2.08+or-0.45, in the s-range (1.96-5.76)GeV/sup 2/, on the basis of 51 e/sup +/e/sup -/ to /sup +or-/h/sup -or+/ events and 8918 e/sup +/e/sup -/ to /sup +or-/e/sup -or+/ events observed. Production of D* mesons in photon-photon collisions at $\sqrt{s}_{ee}$ = 183 GeV and 189 GeV using the OPAL detector at LEP / Patt, J (Fakultät für Phys, Freiburg Univ)
The inclusive production of D*/sup +or-/ mesons in photon-photon collisions has been measured using the OPAL detector at LEP at e/sup +/e/sup -/ centre-of-mass energies square root (s/sub ee/) of 183 and 189 GeV. The D*/sup +/ mesons are reconstructed in their decay to D /sup 0/ pi /sup +/ with the D/sup 0/ observed in the two decay modes K/sup -/ pi /sup +/ and K/sup -/ pi /sup +/ pi /sup -/ pi /sup +/. Triple gauge couplings in $W^{+}W^{-}$ events at LEP / Macchiolo, A
A study of WW production in e/sup +/e/sup -/ annihilation at LEP2 is presented, based on data taken at centre-of-mass energies from 161 to 189 GeV. The observed number of events and the shape of the differential cross-section are used to determine values for the trilinear gauge boson couplings. [...]

Fluctuations and correlations in phase space at LEP / Smirnova, O G (Dept of Phys, Lund Univ)
This talk gives a review of studies of the multiparticle correlations performed by the LEP experiments and DELPHI in particular in 1996-1997. Major attention is paid to subjects such as Bose-Einstein correlations in e/sup +/e/sup -/ to W/sup +/W/sup -/ events, charge- ordering in hadronic decays of the Z/sup 0/ and rapidity correlations in Lambda and p production in e/sup +/e/sup -/ to Z/sup 0/ hadronic events. Recent results from LEP / Gurtu, A (Tata Inst of Fundamental Res)
Recent results from the LEP collider at CERN are presented: on the identification of e/sup +/e/sup -/ to W/sup +/W/sup -/ and the determination of the W mass and width and limits on its anomalous couplings; the search for the standard model and non-minimal Higgs; search for SUSY and other new particles. Fits to all electroweak data leading to predictions of the Higgs mass within the standard model are presented. [...]

Minimal supersymmetric standard model Higgs bosons in the intense- coupling regime / Boos, E ; Djouadi, A ; Mühlleitner, M M ; Vologdin, A N
We perform a comprehensive study of the Higgs sector of the minimal supersymmetric extension of the standard model in the case where all Higgs bosons are rather light, with masses of O(100 GeV), and couple maximally to electroweak gauge bosons and strongly to standard third generation fermions, i.e. for large values of the ratio of the vacuum expectation values of the two Higgs doublet fields, tan beta . Searches at LEP2 latest results / Begalli, M (Inst de Fisica)
Searches for the Higgs boson of the Standard Model and supersymmetric models have been performed by the four LEP experiments in the data collected over almost 12 years (August/1989 until November/2000) at centre-of-mass energies varying from 91.2 GeV to 209 GeV. An excess of candidates for the process e/sup +/e/sup -/ to Z* to Z/sup 0/H/sup 0/ was found for Higgs masses near 114 GeV. [...]
