Decoherence in Neutrino Oscillation at the ESSnuSB Experiment / ESSnuSB Collaboration
Neutrino oscillation experiments provide a unique window in exploring several new physics scenarios beyond the standard three flavour. One such scenario is quantum decoherence in neutrino oscillation which tends to destroy the interference pattern of neutrinos reaching the far detector from the source. [...]

Exploring atmospheric neutrino oscillations at ESSnuSB / ESSnuSB Collaboration
This study provides an analysis of atmospheric neutrino oscillations at the ESSnuSB far detector facility. The prospects of the two cylindrical Water Cherenkov detectors with a total fiducial mass of 540 kt are investigated over 10 years of data taking in the standard three-flavor oscillation scenario. The European Spallation Source neutrino super-beam conceptual design report / Alekou, A. (CERN ; Uppsala U.) ; Baussan, E. (Strasbourg, IPHC) ; Bhattacharyya, A.K. (Strasbourg, IPHC) ; Buchan, O. (ESS, Lund) ; Burgman, A. (Lund U.) et al.
This conceptual design report provides a detailed account of the European Spallation Source neutrino Super Beam (ESS$\nu$SB) feasibility study. This facility has been proposed after the measurements reported in 2012 of a relatively large value of the neutrino mixing angle $\theta_{13}$, which raised the possibility of observing potential CP violation in the leptonic sector with conventional neutrino beams. [...]

Study of nonstandard interactions mediated by a scalar field at the ESSnuSB experiment / ESSnuSB Collaboration
In this paper we study non-standard interactions mediated by a scalar field (SNSI) in the context of ESSnuSB experiment. In particular we study the capability of ESSnuSB to put bounds on the SNSI parameters and also study the impact of SNSI in the measurement of the leptonic CP phase $\delta_{\rm CP}$. [...]

The ESSnuSB design study: overview and future prospects / ESSnuSB Collaboration
ESSnuSB is a design study for an experiment to measure the CP violation in the leptonic sector at the second neutrino oscillation maximum using a neutrino beam driven by the uniquely powerful ESS linear accelerator. The reduced impact of systematic errors on sensitivity at the second maximum allows for a very precise measurement of the CP violating parameter. [...]

Updated physics performance of the ESSnuSB experiment / ESSnuSB Collaboration
In this paper, we present the physics performance of the ESSnuSB experiment in the standard three flavor scenario using the updated neutrino flux calculated specifically for the ESSnuSB configuration and updated migration matrices for the far detector. Taking conservative systematic uncertainties corresponding to a normalization error of $5\%$ for signal and $10\%$ for background, we find that there is $10\sigma$$(13\sigma)$ CP violation discovery sensitivity for the baseline option of 540 km (360 km) at $\delta_{\rm CP} = \pm 90^\circ$. The opportunity offered by the ESSnuSB project to exploit the larger leptonic CP violation signal at the second oscillation maximum and the requirements of this project on the ESS accelerator complex / Wildner, Elena (CERN) ; Baussan, E. Very intense neutrino beams and large neutrino detectors will be needed to enable the discovery of CP violation in the leptonic sector. The European Spallation Source (ESS), currently under construction in Lund, Sweden, is a research center that will provide, by 2023, the world's most powerful neutron source. [...]

The XYU-GEM: Ambiguity-free coordinate readout of the Gas Electron Multiplier / Flöthner, K J (CERN ; Bonn U., HISKP) ; Janssens, D (CERN ; Brussels U., IIHE ; Vrije U., Brussels) ; Brunbauer, F (CERN) ; Ferry, S (CERN) ; Ketzer, B (Bonn U., HISKP) ; Lisowska, M (CERN ; IRFU, Saclay) ; Muller, H (CERN ; Bonn U.) ; de Oliveira, R (CERN) ; Oliveri, E (CERN) ; Orlandini, G (CERN ; Erlangen - Nuremberg U.) et al.
We describe the development of a position-sensitive Gas Electron Multiplier detector prototype, providing for each ionizing event three coordinates: the cartesian X and Y, and U at 45°. Simultaneous recording of the three projections permits ambiguity-free reconstruction of multiple tracks, and aims at operation in very high intensity radiation fields..

The European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden will become the world's most powerful thermal neutron source. The Macromolecular Diffractometer (NMX) at the ESS requires three 51.2 x 51.2~cm$^{2}$ detectors with reasonable detection efficiency, sub-mm spatial resolution, a narrow point spread function (PSF) and good time resolution.
