Pair production of quarkonia and electroweak bosons from double-parton scatterings in nuclear collisions at the LHC / d'Enterria, David (CERN) ; Snigirev, Alexander M. (SINP, Moscow)
Cross sections for the concurrent production of pairs of quarkonia (J/psi, Upsilon) and/or gauge bosons (W, Z) from double-parton scatterings (DPS) in high-energy proton-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus collisions at the LHC are calculated. The estimates are based on next-to-leading-order perturbative QCD predictions, including nuclear modifications of the parton densities, for the corresponding single-scattering cross sections. [...]

Double-parton scattering cross sections in proton-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus collisions at the LHC / d'Enterria, David (CERN) ; Snigirev, Alexander M. (Moscow State U.)
Simple generic expressions to compute double-parton scattering (DPS) cross sections in high-energy proton-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus collisions, as a function of the corresponding single-parton cross sections, are presented. Estimates of DPS contributions are studied for two specific processes at LHC energies: (i) same-sign W-boson pair production in p-Pb, and (ii) double-J/psi production in Pb-Pb, using NLO predictions with nuclear parton densities for the corresponding single-parton cross sections. Enhanced J/Psi production from double parton scatterings in nucleus-nucleus collisions at the Large Hadron Collider / d'Enterria, David (CERN) ; Snigirev, Alexander M. (SINP, Moscow)
A generic expression of double-parton scattering (DPS) cross sections in high-energy nucleus-nucleus collisions is derived as a function of the corresponding single-parton hard cross sections. We consider the case of prompt-J/psi production and find that the DPS contributions represent (15--20)% of the total J/psi cross section in lead-lead (PbPb) collisions at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. LHCb measurements of Quarkonia Production in Ultraperipheral PbPb collisions and Z production in $p$Pb collisions / Li, Hengne (South China Normal U.) /LHCb Collaboration
Measurements of quarkonia production in ultra-peripheral heavy-ion collisions are of important value to study photon-photon and photon-nucleus interactions, the partonic structure of nuclei, and mechanisms of vector-meson production. LHCb has studied both coherent $J/\psi$ and $\psi(2S)$ mesons in ultra-peripheral collisions using PbPb data at forward rapidity with the highest precision currently accessible. [...]

D-meson duos in p-p and p-Pb collisions / Paukkunen, Hannu (speaker) (University of Jyväskylä)
The LHCb collaboration has recently measured cross sections for the simultaneous production of two charmed-particles in p-p [1] and p-Pb [2] collisions. These include opposite-sign and same-sign D-meson pairs offering, for the first time, a chance to study the interplay of single-parton (SPS) and double-parton scattering (DPS) across different collision systems. In this talk, we discuss our NLO QCD framework [3] used to calculate the double D-meson cross sections. [...]

ALICE results on quarkonium production in pp, p-Pb and Pb-Pb collisions / Bruno, Giuseppe Eugenio (Bari U. ; INFN, Bari) /ALICE Collaboration
The study of quarkonia, bound states of heavy (charm or bottom) quark-antiquark pairs such as the J/psi or the Upsilon?, provides insight into the earliest and hottest stages of high-energy nucleus-nucleus collisions where the formation of a Quark-Gluon Plasma is expected. High-precision data from proton-proton collisions represent an essential baseline for the measurement of nuclear modi?cations in nucleus-nucleus collisions and serve also as a crucial test for models of quarkonium hadroproduction.
