Single gluino production in the R-parity lepton number violating the minimal supersymmetric standard model at the CERN LHC / Yin Xi ; Wen Gan Ma ; Wan Lang Hui ; Jiang Yi
We examine the R/sub p/-violating signal of single gluino production associated with a charged lepton or neutrino at the large hadron collider (LHC), in the model of the R-parity relaxed supersymmetric model. If the parameters in the R/sub p/ supersymmetric interactions are not too small, and the mass of the gluino is considered in the range from several GeV (as the lightest supersymmetric particle) to 800 GeV, the cross section of the single gluino production via Drell- Yan processes can be in the order of 10/sup 2/-10/sup 3/ fb, and that via gluon fusion in the order of 10/sup -1/-10/sup 3/ fb. R-parity violation in (t+t)g production at LHC and Tevatron / Chaichian, Masud ; Huitu, K ; Yu, Z H
We study the production of (t+t)g at the hadron colliders in an R- parity (R/sub p/) violating supersymmetric model. This process provides us with information not only about R/sub p/ violation, but may also help us in detecting the supersymmetry itself. [...]

Single chargino production via gluon-gluon fusion in a supersymmetric theory with an explicit R-parity violation / Wan Lang Hui ; Ma Wen Gan ; Yin Xi ; Jiang Yi ; Han Liang
We studied the production of a single chargino chi /sub 1//sup +or-/ accompanied by a mu /sup +or-/ lepton via gluon-gluon fusion at the LHC. The numerical analysis of their production rates was carried out in the mSUGRA scenario with some typical parameter sets. [...]

Flavor changing top decay $t \to c\widetilde{\nu}$ or $\widetilde{\nu} \to t\overline{c}$ in the MSSM without R parity / Bar-Shalom, S ; Eilam, G ; Soni, A
Widths for the new flavor-changing top quark decay t to c nu or for the reversed sneutrino decay nu to tc are calculated in the minimal supersymmetric standard model without R-parity conservation. For large tan beta , e.g., tan beta ~m/sub t/ /m/sub b/~40, Br(t to c nu )>10/sup -5/ or Br( nu to tc)>10/sup -6/ in a relatively wide range of the supersymmetric parameter space as long as there is more than one nonzero R-parity violating coupling. Pair creation by very high-energy photons in gamma-ray bursts : a unified picture for the energetics of GRBs / Totani, T
The extreme energetics of the gamma-ray burst (GRB) 990123 have revealed that some GRBs emit quite a large amount of energy, and the total energy release from GRBs seems to change from burst to burst by a factor of 10/sup 2/-10/sup $9 3/ as E/sub gamma , iso/~10/sup 52-55/ erg, where E/sub gamma , iso/ is the observed GRB energy when the radiation is isotropic. If all GRBs are triggered by similar events, such a wide dispersion in energy release seems odd. [...]

Measurement of the ratio of neutral to charged current cross sections of neutrino interactions in hydrogen / Aachen-Bonn-CERN-Munich-Oxford Collaboration
The ratio R/sub P/ of the neutral current to charged current cross sections has been measured in the BEBC bubble chamber filled with hydrogen and exposed to the CERN SPS wideband neutrino beam. It is found that an event selection in terms of the transverse momentum of the hadronic system is very effective in reducing backgrounds and enables R/sub p/ to be determined with an error of less than 10%. A search for R-parity violating single sneutrino production at LEP II / Coles, J
Supersymmetry has become one of the most accepted and theoretically interesting extensions to the Standard Model of particle physics, yet it has so far eluded discovery [...]

Proton driver optimization for new-generation neutrino superbeams to search for sub-leading $\nu_{\mu} \to \nu_{e}$ oscillations ( $\theta _{13}$ angle) / Ferrari, A ; Rubbia, André ; Rubbia, Carlo ; Sala, P R
In this paper, we perform a systematic study of particle production and neutrino yields for different incident proton energies E/sub p/ and baselines L, with the aim of optimizing the parameters of a neutrino beam for the investigation of theta /sub 13/-driven neutrino oscillations in the Delta m/sup 2/ range allowed by Superkamiokande results. We study the neutrino energy spectra in the 'relevant' region of the first maximum of the oscillation at a given baseline L. [...]

Search for charginos and neutralinos with R-parity violation with the L3 detector at LEPII / Costantini, S (Humboldt U., Berlin)
A search for charginos and neutralinos produced in e/sup +/e/sup -/ collisions at center-of-mass energies between 161 and 183 GeV has been performed under the assumptions that R-parity is not conserved, that the R-parity violating terms involve only leptonic fields, and that the lifetime of the LSP, assumed to be the lightest neutralino, is negligibly small. No candidate events are found in the total data sample, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 76.42 pb/sup -1 /. [...]

High transverse momentum secondaries in cosmic ray interactions up to 10/sup 7/ GeV / Halzen, F (Dept of Phys, Univ of Wisconsin, Madison, WI, USA)
Recent observation of secondary pi /sup 0,/s from cosmic ray interactions with primary energy (E) between 10/sup 4/ and 10/sup 7/ GeV confirm the recent discovery in FNAL and CERN ISR experiments of a component of the proton-proton interaction, growing with energy, yielding an unexpected number of high transverse momentum (p/sub T/) secondaries. That the underlying dynamics is very different from the component of hadron interactions yielding the bulk of small p/sub T/ pions is confirmed by cosmic ray experiments in the observed invariant mass, multiplicity, and most strikingly in the p/sub T/ distribution of the secondaries.
